Responsibilities:
This committee oversees and advises on all aspects of graduate housing, particularly, the implementation of the new guaranteed housing policy, any changes to the policy, regular reviews of housing administration, and consideration of issues brought forward by the Associated Graduate Students.
Membership:
Voting Members: Two members from the Graduate Council, one designated as the Committee Chair, one member from the Council on Student Experience, one member from the Council on Planning and Budget Ex-officio Voting Members: Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Dean of Graduate Studies, Associate Dean of Graduate Studies from one of the Schools Consultant to the Committee: Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Housing Student Representative (non voting per UC Senate bylaws): President of the Associated Graduate Students, Representative from the Palo Verde Residents Council, Representative from the Verano Residents Council.
Policy and Procedures: The University of California, Irvine guarantees an offer of on-campus housing to every newly admitted, full-time Ph.D. and M.F.A. student. Ph.D. students will be guaranteed housing for a term of one year less than normative time to degree for their academic program. M.F.A. students will be guaranteed housing for a term of three years.
