Responsibilities:
Establish appropriate procedures for the approval of courses, propose policy related to courses, and take final action on the approval, disapproval, modification, withdrawal, conduct, credit valuation, and classification of courses. Make decisions consistent with established educational policy and give full consideration to the views of appropriate schools, departments, and other academic units in matters relating to their courses of instruction, and act promptly on requests for course approval.
Courses offering breadth credit are reviewed and approved or disapproved for course action only. Breadth credit is reviewed by the Programs and Policy Subcommittee. Final approval of breadth is awarded by CEP.
Review and approve or disapprove exception requests for Teaching Associates to teach upper-division, undergraduate courses.
Membership:
One Division member from each Faculty offering an undergraduate degree to be appointed by the Committee on Committees. The Registrar and the Dean of Continuing Education shall be ex officio members.
